Naukuchiyatal is located at 24 km from Nainital and 5km from Bhimtal that is perched 1219 m from sea level. It has nine lopsided corners, due to which it’s called Naukuchiyatal in the local language.

Naukuchiytal Lake

Naukuchiytal Lake is definitely the most picturesque lake in the lake capital of India -Nainital. It is located at an altitude of 1219 meters above the sea level that 9 corners in the pretty and neat lake town of Naukuchiytal.

Naukuchiytal Lake is also known for its mythological value. It is believed that one can attain spiritual enlightenment on having a view of all the nine corners of the lake from one vantage point. Several exceptional varieties of birds and wildlife are to be found in the forest surrounding the lake.

 How to Reach Naukuchiatal From Nainital

Naukuchiatal is a well connected by air, rail and road that 24 km from Nainital and 5km from Bhimtal. You can easily get state-owned buses (USRTC), Shared Taxis and private buses from Nainital and Kathgodam for here.

Kathgodam is the nearest Railway station to Naukuchiatal which is about 40 km from the here. There are direct trains from all the major cities such as Bangalore, Shimla, Delhi, Kolkata, Kanpur, Dehradun and Jammu etc. From where you can easily get Cabs and buses for Naukuchiatal.

Pant Nagar Airport is the nearest airport to Naukuchiatal which is nearly 70 km away. There are daily flights from Delhi and Dehradun. You can easily get Taxis from outside the airport that almost two – two and a half hours.

There is snowfall in the winter season and moderate rainfalls during the monsoon that leads slippery roads. So, make your trip wisely.
