Between November and February, Pangot is covered with a white sheet of snow. Pleasant climate, stunning landscape and relaxing charm of Pangot town, attracts a good number of travellers who wants to spend a relaxing vacation while being close to nature.

Pangot is a heaven for bird watching activity and nature photographers. Kilbury and Snow View Point are two ideal spots for such activities. One can spot many species of birds including Lammergeyer, slaty-black Forktail, Khaleej pheasant, grey and red jungle fowls, redstarts, flycatchers, woodpeckers, jays, fork tails, laughing thrushes and more Himalayan griffon. Even if bird watching is not a passion, the bird calls will surely entice and draw you into seeking them out. 

You can enjoy popular trail through the forest is from Pangot to Kilbury forest rest house which is 15 Km long trail leading up to Naina peak, offers picturesque views of snow-capped summits of Nanda Devi, Trishul and Nanda Ghunti.

If you have the spare time, then you can go on a three-day trek from Pangot to Corbett National Park. On the trek, you will pass through the snow (depending on the time of the year) forest, cross streams, hilly hamlets as you descend to the outer periphery of the famous stronghold of the Royal Bengal tiger.

How to Reach Pangot

By Train

The Nearest railway station to Pangot is situated in Kathgodam, which is 50 km away from here. You can easily get a direct train from rest of the country. From Kathgodam railway station, you can take share taxis that may cost somewhere around INR 100 per person.

By Air

The Closest airport to Pangot is located at Pantnagar, which is around 2.5 hours’ far away from here. The airport has 6 scheduled flights every week and is also connected to Delhi. From the Airport, you can easily book a taxi that is available at the airport, which may cost around INR 1300.

By Road

Pangot is well-connected by road to the rest of the country. Since AC or non-AC buses are available only till Nainital. From where you can easily hire a taxi to go to Pangot from Delhi.
