How To Reach Delhi to Haridwar Train – Rail Haridwar Junction is linked daily to Delhi and Dehra Dun by five daily trains, including two Shatabdi expresses.

Haridwar is connected daily to Mumbai by the Dehra Dun Express, to Ahmed- abad by the Haridwar Mail, and to Agra, Gwalior, Bhubaneswar and Puri by the Kalinga Utkal Express. The bus stop and taxi stand are right outside the station.

The main taxi stand (Railway Rd) is located just outside the train station.

Delhi to Haridwar Bus

Private deluxe buses and sleeper buses run to Delhi (deluxe/Volvo ₹250/350), Agra (seat/ sleeper ₹400/450), Jaipur (₹400/500) and Pushkar (₹450/500). The buses leave from a stand around the corner from the GMVN tourist office and by the gurdwara (Sikh temple). Otherwise, any travel agent in town can make a booking.

Nearest Airport to Haridwar

Nearest airport: Jolly Grant, Dehra Dun (30 km/ 45 mins), connected to Delhi daily by Air India, Jet Konnect, Jet Airways and SpiceJet flights. Return taxi fare to Haridwar is Rs 1,250.

Delhi to Haridwar Distance | By Road

 Haridwar is connected to Delhi by NH58 via Meerut and Roorkee. NH58 continues onwards to Rishikesh, Devprayag, Rudraprayag and Badrinath. Lucknow is connected to Haridwar via NH24 to Bareilly, then NH74 to Haridwar via Pilibhit and Kashipur. NH72 goes to Dehra Dun and Nahan, and thereon to Chandigarh and Shimla. Uttarakhand Roadways(Tel: 011-22158641) operates 13 daily bus services to Haridwar from Delhi’s ISBT Anand Vihar and two night services from Chandigarh

 Getting Around In Haridwar

 Cycle-rickshaws cost ₹10 for a short distance and ₹30 for longer hauls, such as from the Haridwar train station to Har-ki-Pairi. You can hire a taxi for tour the local temples and ashrams costs around ₹800 and  an autorickshaw costs ₹350.

Destinations include Chilla (for Rajaji National Park, ₹570), Rishikesh (₹770, one hour) and Dehra Dun (₹1250), but it is usually possible to arrange a taxi for less than these official rates. You can hire private jeep Sumos to go to one or all of the pilgrimage sites on the Char Dham between April and October. One-way rates for Gangotri and Badrinath are ₹7500 each; Kedarnath and Yamnotri cost ₹7000; a nine-day tour of all four is ₹22,600. Taxis to Jolly Grant Airport cost ₹1020. Shared vikrams run up and down Railway Rd (₹10) and to Rishikesh (₹40, one hour) from Upper Rd at Laltarao Bridge, but for that trip buses are more comfortable. You can hire the whole thing to Rishikesh’s Lakshman Jhula for ₹400.
